If you are switching straight from Zap2It to SD, follow these steps:
1. Sign up for SD using an alphanumeric loginname. Do not use your email as PTVB will not allow characters such as "@" or "." NOTE: Schedules Direct will convert your login name to lowercase and PTVB is casesensitive.
2. Set up your channels on the SD website.
3. Make sure that the latest xmltv.exe is in the PTVB directory/folder. It has to be in the same folder (normally located in C:\Program Files\Pocket TV Browser). You can download the latest xmltv (version 0.5.4 at this link. You do not have to unzip or copy anyother file but the xmltv.exe file into the PTVB directory.
4. Go to the Listing Tab in PTVB and click the properties tab. You can right click on the TV icon on your taskbar to open Pocket TV Manager settings to get to the Listing Tab
5. Select the zap2it as service... Which should already be selected as you were using zap2it. cCick next and enter your SD username and password in the appropriate spaces.
6. Click next and finish the setup.
You should be able to use PTVB as you did in the past. It will show the service as zap2it, but the xmltv.exe file will be communicating with SD instead of Zap2It. PTVB doesn't know any different.
If you are having problems, you might want to uninstall PTVB and reinstall a fresh copy and run through the setup, making sure you choose Zap2It as your service with the latest xmltv.exe in the PTVB folder. NOTE: Most problems have been due to not having the latest xmltv.exe in the PTVB folder or login name and passwords not being entered correctly. And uninstalling will cause you to loose your Favorites and other settings, so uninstall as a last resort.
It has been reported and confirmed that you can edit the ptvmanager.ini file under the zap2it section so that SD shows up in the service area of the setup. It would look like this:
[zap2it-dd]
description=XMLTV Schedules Direct Listings (US, Canada)
NOTE:For those who have been using a batch file and want to keep your batch file the main change is the line for the xmltv.
1. Open your batch file to Edit...
2. Change the xmltv line so that the output file matches the file that PTVB created and TVTweak found when browsing. It is probably something like this: xmltv tv_grab_na_dd --days 14 --output provider1.xml
You should now be able to run the batch file to automate the whole process or download from within PTVB. You can now configure XMLTV from with PTVB. |
