PIMulator™ Test Profiles

Pilot (a simulation of the original Pilot hardware)
Palm III (running PalmOS 3.0)
Palm III (running PalmOS 3.3)

3rd-party Test Applications

Bejeweled by ASTRAWARE (warning: requires PalmOS 3.x)
Daleks by Individeo
Railroad by Tinyware (warning: does not run on PalmOS 1.0)
SFCave by SunFlat (warning: does not run on PalmOS 1.0)

Current Limitations of The PIMulator™

  1. Netscape is supported, but there are a few compatibility problems.  Internet Explorer is the preferred web browser.
  2. If the PIMulator is left idle for a minute or two, it will try (unsuccessfully) to power itself down.  It's possible to wake it back up with any of the 4 application buttons, or by simply reloading the profile.
  3. Limited gray-scale support exists, but color modes are not supported at this time.
  4. It is not possible to save or restore your PIMulator's state, or to "HotSync" it with your PC, or to load 3rd-party applications from other servers.  The latter is a restriction imposed on Java applets, not by the PIMulator.  A signed version of the PIMulator applet would eliminate that restriction.

This isn't an exhaustive list -- we've just  listed the most significant issues to date.  Please note that work on The PIMulator has ceased for the time being.
