If you've already installed it and simply want to upgrade to the current version, the process is the same: click one of the links above to download the current version and install it. You do not need to uninstall the older version first, and all your settings and registration information will be preserved.

If you have a different device, such as a Windows CE-based Palm-size PC or Handheld PC, try the Devices page to look for an appropriate download.

Pocket TV Browser (Version 1.xx) is a fully-functional TV listings browser. Registering the software is optional, and anyone who purchased V1 in the past, or who makes a donation, has or will receive a registration code for the software.

However, depending on the listing service you choose, you may need to separately purchase a listing subscription, which is payable directly to the listing service, not DoubleBit Software. If you sign up for listings from Evolve Solutions, you'll get listings free for two weeks, after which there's a $10 annual subscription fee, payable to Evolve.

Version 1.77

Version 1.77 fixes a synchronization problem with new versions of the Palm Desktop software, and adds support for the Treo 600/650 navigator button.

Version 1.76

Version 1.76 adds support for recent changes in Zap2it's XMLTV output.

Version 1.75

Version 1.75 adds support for the new XMLTV grabber for North America.

Version 1.72

Version 1.72 adds support for improved start times (displayed to the nearest preceding 5-minute interval).

Version 1.71 (Build 03)

Version 1.71 (Build 03) fixes an incorrect warning about your computer's clock that began happening in 2004. Click the appropriate link above to get the latest version, which you can simply install on top of your current version.

Also, if you ever have problems downloading your listings, try clicking the "Clear Caches" button on the Pocket TV Manager Performance tab before downloading your listings again. This will sometimes be necessary in the rare event of a bad listings download.

Version 1.71

Version 1.71 contains a few minor changes:

Indicates "repeat" shows if the listing service supports it (both Evolve and XMLTV do)

Distinguishes back-to-back airings of the same show as separate shows (1.70 did not)

Extends the trial period of the software to 21 days. The trial period for a listing subscription from Evolve Solutions is still 2 weeks. This change simply allows you to use the software for an extra week while you decide if you want to buy a listing subscription, and whether or not you want to make a donation to support DoubleBit Software's efforts on the software as well.

As always, these software updates are free of charge, and can be installed on of your existing version.

Version 1.70

Version 1.70 was released specifically for Handango (Palm), Handango (Pocket PC), PalmGear, and PocketGear. There are no functional changes in 1.70, except to convert the software to an "unlimited trial", so that we can once again offer the software for purchase at Handango, etc. Registration of the software is still optional, donations are still welcome, and registration codes will be automatically issued to all donors, so that you can turn off the software's "trial period" warnings. More information about this change has been posted on our Pocket TV Browser forum.

Note: A Pocket TV Browser purchase/donation does NOT include a subscription, and the software's trial period is independent of your listing subscription's trial period. If you choose to sign up with Evolve, your subscription fee will be payable directly to Evolve, not DoubleBit Software.

Update: Version 1.70 (Build 03) was recently released to fix an input problem with the Ratings filter screen, and to add 5-way button support for the newer handhelds, like the Tungsten series.

Version 1.65

Version 1.65 (Build 04) now does the following:

Handles Daylight Savings Time adjustment when using a listing subscription from Evolve

Prevents loss of Postal Code when using XMLTV listings from Canada

Adjusts the Category List to match only those categories actually used by your listings (Evolve or XMLTV)

Version 1.64

Version 1.64 (Build 03) includes the following changes:

Support for episodes names and actors lists when using a listing subscription from Evolve

Fixed "Year" display in the Browser's "Program List" view

Various XMLTV improvements; these are mentioned in the Release Notes during installation, and they will be discussed in more detail on the XMLTV for Pocket TV Browser forum

Support for renumbering and renaming channels; NOTE: if you're using a listing subscription from Evolve, you have to download your listings at least once before Pocket TV Manager will know what channels you have selected on their web site

Fixed "Original airdate" display in the Palm version of the Browser

Added "Use IE Settings" checkbox on the Pocket TV Manager Performance tab, to allow users to control whether or not Pocket TV Manager gets its network/proxy settings from Internet Explorer's settings

Version 1.61
